A Beach Vacation to the Carribean

Updated on September 20, 2022

Deciding Where to Go on a Beach Vacation

Have you ever wanted to take a beach vacation? Then you couldn't decide where you wanted to go. You knew it was warm and sunny where you could work on your tan. Consider taking a cruise and visiting several ports of call. You can experience beautiful beaches and tours and discover places you may not have thought of before when planning a trip.

My husband and I recently took a seven-day cruise to exotic places: the first being Cozumel, Mexico. There we spent a day at a beautiful beach resort at Playa Mia. We enjoyed a day of swimming and snorkeling at a private resort. We were free to take in the fun and an authentic Mexican buffet; all included in the admission price.

We swam with the fish and savored our time observing underwater Mayan Ruins. It was a fantastic adventure I am sure we would never have chosen as a vacation. There were three ports of call on our cruise, each being exciting and unique as the first.

Caribbean Cruises

One of Carnival's newest and largest ship leaving from New Orleans.

An impressive ship filled with fun and entertainment.

The Port of Miami is a very popular port to leave for a cruise.

Check out the Royal Caribbean for a unique traveling experience.

Brush up on your Spanish and depart for San Juan, Puerto Rico.

Fun Fun Fun!

Fun On The Ship

Rescue at Sea
Rescue at Sea

We had fun beyond the usual entertainment; we did rescue at sea of a boat that had been adrift for 14 days. The coast guard assisted us in saving 39 people who were taking on water in a small boat. The photo shows the coast guard coming to the rescue.

We had a Spa stateroom with all the beautiful amenities during the cruise. A couple's hot stone massage was included in our package. It was seventy-five minutes of pure bliss. Every muscle in my body was refreshed and relaxed by the skill of kneading and the warmth of the stones. Since all the meals were included on the cruise, we enjoyed meals in our room, at the buffet, and in the formal dining room. Several nights were formal occasions and allowed us to dress in our most acceptable attire for the evening.

We were looking for a unique vacation, and this certainly fit the bill. Each day was more relaxing than the next. It was hard to believe that a break could be so stress-free. There was plenty of entertainment on the ship a comedy club, theater, restaurants, shopping, and pizza parlor open 24 hours a day. In addition, we had swimming pools, water slides, and spa tubs located on most levels of the ship.

I Love Snorkeling!

Adventure After Adventure

Our 2nd port of call was the Grand Cayman Islands. We took a boat ride on Captain Marvin's boat for a day, swimming with Stingrays and snorkeling. What an adventure. The Stingrays were friendly and had been accustomed to a human visitor. The spot was where fishermen cleaned their catch and through scraps to rays for hundreds of years. I held a Stingray and felt its soft underside and picky topside.

Our 3rd port of call, Jamaica, was on a catamaran ride and, of course, another day snorkeling. Since my husband and I enjoy swimming with the fish, we had another wonderful day. There were many other choices for excursions at each port, but since we both love to swim, we chose snorkeling adventures. That day's cruise also took us to Famous Margaritaville on Montego Bay. It was an experience not soon to be forgotten.

If you have the opportunity to take a cruise, I am sure you will have a great time—food, fun, and adventure. There is something for everyone.

Where would you or have you cruised? What was your favorite acitivity?
